Wheat Kings and Pretty Things

The man formerly known as Hermit King left a little red box on his dresser for me.

On the top was a parchment card which read: "For Sherry, two weeks late, with love."

I was informed a couple weeks ago that something shiny and jangly was coming my way. I was expecting photographs, or paperclips, or something else that starts with the letter "p" (no, Laura, vibrator does not start with "p", pulsate does though).
Instead I was shocked to find beautiful jewellery and beautiful words.

I whined impatiently for said shiny, jangliness since I can't wait for anything and I dislike surprises that I don't already know about. I was a poor sport, but he must have expected it. It was worth the wait, I must say, and so was he.

From what I've seen it's a rarity in this world, and maybe in others, to find someone(s) to feel connected to. Someone who sees simplicity and beauty in your everyday life, and who wants to share themself with you because of it.

Franz Ferdinand has it right: "lucky, lucky you're so lucky."

And yes, I wanna.

Thanks... my brain was very sleepy when I posted so I realize the sentences are not the best they could be sense-making-wise. lol.
