The End of All Things

The end of 2007 was incredibly busy.

There were the regular family events and such, but then new year's also brought many welcome visits and crazy events (thanks Tudor!).

Normally I hate the last week of the year, particularly New Year's Eve as it never EVER lives up to societal hype, but this year I actually had a pretty kick-ass time.

On Boxing Day Corwin came to visit and we beat the crap out of each other with boxes. He brought us wine and it was crazy delicious. We know this because we drank it with Tudor and Laura a few days later when they came to visit. They brought dominoes and Tequila chocolates, amazing Planet Bean coffee, and a beautiful photo series for our wall. All of this was heart-warming enough, but then they also took us out for breakfast and Tudor got the van stuck in a snowbank. I have to say, it really was the most exciting breakfast. I think Regan took some pictures for posterity.

After all this excitement we hustled our butts to Pickering for a magically yummy steak dinner with my "BFF" and her boyfriend (a car salesman and bbq master). After one quick game of Euchre we headed for Toronto and the famous Snakes n' Champagne party at Dave's house. Many thanks go out to our gracious host and his gracious dad and step-mom for letting us infiltrate their home, use every glass in the house, and put fingerprints all over the Gemini award.

Mike Morris was good company on the nearly-deadly ride home, and as a bonus Regan and I have finally figured out where Aurora is.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit or who invited us over and I hope we can do this again really soon. Sra's birthday is coming up and mine is at the end of the month, so I hope I can see you all again to make my January a little more bright.

I found a place that sells delicious and excellently priced baguettes. Come for the sra, stay for the cheese plate!
