A Very Merry Un(un)Birthday to Me!

I share a birthday with Oprah.

I wish I shared some money and global influence with Oprah. oh well.

What I DO have that she doesn't (to the best of my knowledge) is a wicked awesome birthday card with a Yeti, from my very own Yeti. A book about branding so I can further educate/confuse small children about the dangers of everything they know and love (consumerism). Beautiful flowers from my best friend in Florida and a phone message with bad singing and a reminder about how truly old I am.

My mother bought us a coffee maker and a stereo stand (thanks mom!) and she and pops also donated money to my poor lifestyle cause. (Point of clarification: I don't want to be poor, I just am).

Mostly I hate birthdays, but this one was alright (aside from my grandmother claiming that she hates me because she thinks I'm mad at her)... I don't get it either people, but it's a shitty feeling knowing that your granny's mad at you (or worse yet... disappointed!) I can't wait until I'm old and have that kind of intense influence. I'm going to make everyone miserable and it'll be awesome.

I was hiding out at school all day and that was working well. Report cards kept me safe from the birthday curse. I think that the vanilla vodka I bought is going to make it all better. I think I'm going to go and drink the vanilla vodka now.

You're totally not alone with the grandmother thing. Mine gave me what can only be described as an angry birthday message in my card last year.

I'm wishing Happy Birthday to You, but not to Oprah.
