So Friday night was filled with wonderful surpirses. It's been a long time since I've had a wonderful surprise-filled weekend.
I drove into Waterloo at around 5 pm. I spent a little too much time at HMV. I headed to Regan's basement to "work on my lesson plans." What I ended up doing instead was chatting on the Internet. My old roomate Chris had an msn name which proclaimed "Gig tonight at the Raintree, come if you're bored."
I hadn't seen Chris since Halloween and I was indeed bored, so off I went. WOW. All those years in Waterloo and I'd never eaten at the wonderful, super delicious Raintree Cafe. I had been missing out. Everyone shoud go there. Now. Right now.
When Chris showed up I was sitting alone, eating an amazing chicken caesar salad, drinking a homemade ice tea, and reading some Virginia Wolfe. The band started to play and I was totally digging the tunes, so much in fact that I had myself some hot chocolate and a piece of "squirrel pie." Then, the most unexpected and awesome thing happened. The guitarist started to do some spoken word poetry. It was fantastic, funny, touching, entertaining and wonderful. He was so good that I ran off to get Regan from the VeryLargeBookstore to share the experience with him. He was so good that we stayed all night and listened to his linguistic wizardry. He was so good that I bought one of his CDs.
I think everyone should go and check out his site: www.bredanmcleod.ca, and if you ever get a chance to see him, I highly recommend it. Thank you Chris for a wonderful surprising Friday night, and thank you Regan for a wonderful stress-free weekend.
Three weeks 'till holidays. THREE WEEKS. I can't wait.

The Raintree does have really good food. Yum.
What subjects will you be teaching when you're done school?
I'm not sure if you remember me but I went to Laurier. I think we talked one time in the concourse (that's specific huh?). Anyway just wanted to say 'hi'. I read your site (obviously!) and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Teacher's College
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Holidays! I like 'em!
Of course I remember you. I didn't know you read my blog. I'm glad you like it. I'm diggin' teachers college, but honestly I am counting down the days until the holidays.
Hey Sherry,
I hope you have a good vacation :)
