Alright, it appears the Democrats are going to be going at it for some undisclosed amount of time, so what's your take on the race?
As a casual follower of the Primaries I must say that observing the media bias/media circus that has been going on has been the most entertaining part for me. I certainly don't know enough about American politics to claim any solid knowledge of the details of Hilary's supposed experience or Barack's inexperience, but they both seem to talk a good game. Will either of them be able to pull that country out of the sink hole it's in? Can anyone do that in 4 years? 8 years? McCain might be a fossil by then.
While watching a bunch of youtube videos today (w00t snow day!) I came across this one from an episode of MadTV. I know that Hilary has been attempting to appeal to young people by making appearances on Letterman, SNL and The Daily Show, and Barack has shown up on similar shows in the past, but what about the spoofs they aren't "in" on? What about the unapproved jokes and that American media bias? Is one of the candidates getting an "easy" ride from the media? Are they both being unfairly depicted? Do videos like the one above cross the line? Do you think the video is disrespectful? If there were two white men running neck-and-neck for the nomination would a video with content like the one above even cross writers' minds? Hmmmm so many questions.
McKay and Condi were never so racy, but also, not nearly as... important?

I've been avoiding the media depictions of the race as much as possible (which is difficult, since I live here), because, regardless of whether or not she is a good candidate, I really can't stand the blatant sexism that permeates any and all coverage of Hilary. Honestly, at this point I hope she doesn't get the nomination just because I don't think I'll be able to handle this shit if it lasts until October.
Obama is definitely the choice of the hipster intelligentsia, and also seems to be able to mobilize people (including non-hipster intelligentsia types) in a significant way. Right now there is so much talk of Obama and the idea of hope, and I'm interested to see how it plays out, and if he can sustain it.
Um, also, this website is amazing:
