Something Merry... and Mice

So, by now you've all probably caught on to the fact that I'm pretty scrooge-tastic this time of year.

None of that is going to change anytime soon, however, I did read something in the local paper a few days back that DIDN"T make me want to stab holiday shoppers and their greedy-rolly-shoe kids.

A little girl had her birthday party at McDonald's and invited everyone in her class. She asked if they would all bring an unwrapped present.

I THOUGHT maybe this was so that she could more efficiently cast aside the less expensive and inferior gifts for only the choice material, but it appears I was a tad too cynical too soon.

The little girl (only six years old) actually donated every single gift to a local toy drive. I almost fell off my chair. The only six year old I've known recently is the most spoiled rotten (literally rotten) child on the planet. Who gets a CD player for their 3rd birthday?!? I mean really. Anyhow, this was the second year in a row that little miss birthday gave away her stuff. OMG! I say, rock on little one!

In other news: Regan has a mouse in his apartment. We tried to kill it. With peanut butter. Instead the little grey/brown f*#er outsmarted both of us and escaped... after having his leg caught in the flimsy trap all night (we thought we could just leave him and he might starve... we are so kind) we awoke this morning to find the trap on the other side of the room and the mouse gone. He chewed through the plastic to escape and left behind some mouse blood and fur. GROSS!

Anyhow, we have purchased a more "lethal" mouse trap and hopefully tomorrow we'll be dining on roast mouse. DELICIOUS!

You should let my cat take care of your little "problem". Based on the way she destroys flies, etc., I expect she could make short work of your rodent adversary.

We could have a contest between pigou and wiggy for mouse catching. He is a kung fu fly killa

I think our guillotine method was pretty quick and painless. Plus, there are lots of mice and he would have come back if we released him somewhere else.

Check out this story from today's Star - it's about a little girl donating money to the Star's Santa Claus fund instead of giving out loot bags at her party.
