Some things have been going good, and some things have been going bad. No things have been going great.
I got fired from the pub for (according to my employers) "no reason." Hmmm funny. They apparently just ran out of shifts to give me. How shifty of them. Also, they told me this over the phone, then hung up on me mid-sentence, then made it impossible for me to nail their asses to the Labour Board wall because I was just shy of working there for 3 months. Bother.
No matter, though. I'm over it.
I took the pub unpleasantness as a sign and decided to get my face shoved in the faces of those that hire, the powers the be, the school "officials." I pimped my volunteering self out there again and lo and behold someone is letting me help out for free (you wouldn't even believe how hard it is to donate your time around this county).
So, that's where I'm at right now, penniless but reasonably happy and I have hope since good things have been happening to my teacher friends lately. Alysia got hired on the supply list in Sarnia and Janelle got a totally random call for a job in Midhurst just the other day (congrats!). If anyone out there reading this is a principal, I've got lots of time on my hands, and I'm sitting around waiting for my random call. Just sitting here, waiting. For real. I wouldn't make this up.
If you call me I'll be your friend.
